Transforming Healthcare Accessibility with a User Centered Approach
Many individuals face challenges when trying to access healthcare services, such as booking appointments with doctors and obtaining prescribed medications. The current healthcare system often involves cumbersome processes, long waiting times, and fragmented services. Patients may find it difficult to access timely medical care and acquire prescribed medications efficiently, leading to frustration and potential delays in treatment.
My Role
As a UI/UX Designer and UX Researcher for the HealthConnect project, I played a key role in researching user needs and developing design solutions to improve healthcare access. My contributions included
Conducting user research to identify pain points in appointment booking and medication access
Collaborating with the team in brainstorming sessions to generate ideas and potential solutions based on research insights
Designing user interfaces that focused on simplicity, usability, and clear navigation to enhance the user experience
The Solution
Health connect is a user-friendly mobile application that allows patients to easily book appointments with doctors of their choice. Implement an intuitive interface that displays doctors' availability, specialties, and reviews, enabling patients to make informed decisions.
Target Audience
Working Professionals like office workers, entrepreneurs and other workers with busy schedules who may find it hard to visit physical clinics during work hours
Busy parents especially ones with younger children who needs quick access to medical advice and requires a doorstep delivery of medicines
Students who often face medical issues but find it challenging to seek medical help due to busy schedule or distance from a healthcare facilities
Tech-Savvy who are already familiar with using smartphones. This group is more likely to embrace the convenience and efficiency of a healthcare app.
